What is the difference between 4G and 4G LTE?

Many people use the terms 4g and 4g interchangeably, but they are not the same.

Lets find out the difference….

Features of 4g

4G is the next step above and a 3g replacement, offering faster speeds for users who stream media (such as videos or mp3s), surf the internet, and download data. 4g speed means less buffering for users, often none at all, making it ideal for users who use the many features offered by smartphones and tablets today.

When 4G was first introduced, and even when it became widely available, many networks did not reach speeds of 4g. but some operators sell phones that are compatible with 4g, even though customers don’t actually get 4g unless they are in the area covered by the 4g network. Most places offer 4G now, but when users with 4G devices are in an area that only offers 3G, smart phones and other devices will switch to 3G. if this happens, you won’t have speech / voice problems, you will only have slower internet speeds and downloads.

Features of 4g lte

4G LTE is a type of 4G technology, and provides the best performance and speed available today. if you use a lot of data every month or rely on a smart phone or tablet to surf the internet, 4G LTE is usually the best choice. 4G LTE is about ten times faster than older 3G technology, so the difference in speed is often quite noticeable when users switch from 3g to 4g LTE.

The speed depends on your signal strength and network load. The 4G network is so fast that when using one on your cellphone, your internet experience is as good as a home computer connected to a modern wireless broadband network.

Which one is better 4g or 4 lte ?? so lets find out….

Selecting 4G or 4G LTE means the speed you need or want. if you need or want the fastest speed available, you will want to buy a smartphone that supports 4G LTE. In addition, you will want to check coverage maps for different operators to see who offers 4G LTE in most areas, or at least the area where you spend the most time like your home and workplace. it’s also a good idea to visit wireless retail locations to test the speed of different networks themselves. You will find a striking difference between 3G, 4G and 4G LTE. (Main difference not speed only but its quality)

4g refers for a group of wireless technlogies.

difference between 4G and 4G LTE?

Here are some of the 4g standards.

  • lte and lte-advance(4.5g)
  • wimax (ieee 802.16d)
  • wibro (ieee 802.16e, korean version of wimax in mobile edition)

At present, what is commonly used is LTE, and people refer to LTE when they call 4g.

Ok. here comes a hidden truth about 4G.

Some operators market hspa + (hsdpa is considered 3.5g, and hspa + is considered as 3.75g running up to 42mbps when conditions meet.) as 4g. Softbank in Japan is one of them.

These operators market real 4G LTE as LTE, differentiate 4G and LTE, and make money from different data package prices.

4G LTE is a marketing term used by wireless operators to market their wireless data services which are implemented using 4th generation wireless air interface technology which is defined as long-term evolution by 3gpp. It is a wireless air interface with flat IP core network.

4G is a marketing term that was originally used by several wireless operators who arrived late to the market with their LTE network. they use the term to compete by marketing their sophisticated 3G wireless HSPA data network, which is standardized using a broadband CDMA air interface, like 4G speed.

So in fact 4g is a 3g technology, whereas LTE is actually a 4g.4g technology is a fourth generation technology that provides services that are in line with very sophisticated specifications. specifications require speeds of around 1 gbps for stationary and 100 mbps for users who are moving. LTE or long-term evolution is technology that evolved from GSM and WCDMA. it uses sc-fdma for uplink and ofdma for downlinks and better support for mobility, security and has a flat architecture that ensures minimal latency.

Both lte and mobile wimax are competing technologies that match specifications and both are collectively known as 4g technology. Mobile WiMax has a larger market in Asia and North America but LTE is used by the majority of countries in the world (Now most of operator shift from WI-Max to LTE as user more interested in 4G). lte means long-term evolution. it is the next generation network after 3g. generally, this term represents the wireless part of the network. within 3g, the wireless part consists of rnc and nodeb. But in an LTE network, there are only enodebs that function as rnc and enodeb.

The core network has changed a lot in the LTE network, so it has become mme and ggsn has grown to sae-gw which means sgw and pgw. and mme only handles data signals in the LTE network. transfer of user aircraft data directly from enodeb to sgw. by using this type of network, the user’s aircraft speed can be increased a lot, besides the network becomes simpler

It (international communication union) has established several data rate standards for the 4th generation which for mobility (in motion) 100mbps and for stationary it is 1 gbps. for this, the equipment used is not suitable. but vendors market it as 4G (this is a marketing trick). LTE is the path to true 4g. the name itself says that it is a long-term evolution to reach the actual 4g. we heard 4glte too. Everything is the same. now volte (voice over lte) is referred to as 4glte.

LTE, sometimes known as 4G LTE, is a type of 4G technology. Short for “Long Term Evolution”, it is slower than “real” 4G, but significantly faster than 3G, in which the data rates were originally measured in kilobits per second and not in megabits per second.
